“Life is not about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself.”
- George Bernard Shaw
Our Journey.
The journey started many years ago when Pele created a community fitness project that he named ‘About The People’ aka ATP. What started as a few people getting active and having some fun in the local park, grew into a thriving community with a fully functional fitness facility. Pele was the gym owner and lead motivator, and was supported by Scott who was his friend, accountant and adviser. After four years Pele made the extremely tough decision to sell the gym and prioritise his own wellbeing and family. During this process he was very thankful to find a new owner that was able to continue the work he started in their own unique way.
As life went on for Pele and Scott, they kept in touch and would often meet to discuss and share various learnings with each other around wellbeing. Over the years they have come to realise wellbeing is not just about how a person looks or how fit they are. While the functional aspect of wellbeing is important, it is equally important to balance personal connections at home, at work, with friends and in the community, and their personal mindset.
Pele Aumua
Pele is a specialist in holistic health and culture building. He applies innovative approaches that challenges deficit thinking and focuses on potential instead. Pele’s background in functional strength and conditioning, gym ownership, and lifestyle coaching have culminated his skillset in designing and delivering health initiatives. He excels at empowering communities to become self-sufficient.
At the same time the complexities and challenges of life had increased. Our family, friends, colleagues and communities continue to battle an ever growing number of health related issues that can be linked to increased levels of stress, anxiety, self-esteem and unhappiness. In a world where being connected has never been easier with various social platforms and tools, it is sad to see how unconnected we are as human beings.
In response Pele and Scott set out on a new journey to make a difference by inspiring and educating people about a holistic approach to wellbeing. Using their combined passion, energy, knowledge, skills, and personal network, BE360 was born.
BE360 exists to educate and connect people to a holistic approach to wellbeing. The first step is to help start the conversation around wellbeing. While it is not our place to define ‘what wellbeing is’ we have developed a wellbeing framework to give people some guidance as to what wellbeing could look like for them. Holistic wellbeing is so broad that it would be unrealistic to think that two people have the required knowledge to share with others. And so Pele and Scott used their network and connections to build a diverse team of wellbeing professionals to help facilitate the BE360 wellbeing sessions and cover the various areas of holistic wellbeing. As a team, we all aspire to achieve the BE360 vision and mission.
Sustainability is the key. While we aim to inspire people in the moment it is about helping them create small positive changes that over time build into life changing habits. By starting the wellbeing conversation, setting a foundation through education, connecting people to wellbeing pathways and making sustainable changes it is our mission to see more and more people leading inspired, refreshed and energised lives.
